Step 1

Before You Visit

Walking into a cannabis dispensary for the first time can feel like walking into a world you do not fully understand yet. That is completely normal. Here is everything you need to know before you come in.

01

Valid Government ID

Driver's license, passport, or state-issued ID proving you are 21 or older. This is checked at the door, every time, no exceptions.

02

Cash or Debit Card

We accept cash and debit. Credit cards are not accepted at any cannabis dispensary due to federal banking restrictions. There is no ATM fee for debit transactions.

03

Questions

Seriously. Write them down if you want. Our staff is here to answer anything about products, consumption methods, dosing, or effects. No question is too basic.

Mental Prep

There is no wrong question. You do not need to know cannabis terminology. You do not need to pretend you know what you are doing. Our entire job is to help you figure out what you want and what will work for you. Come as you are.

Step 2

When You Arrive

Here is exactly what happens from the moment you walk through the door.

01

Check-In

You will be greeted at the door. Show your government-issued ID to verify you are 21 or older. This takes about 30 seconds. Once verified, you are free to enter the sales floor.

02

Browse

Take your time. Look at products, read labels, check potencies. Our display is organized by product type. There is no rush, no timer, and no one is going to hover over you unless you want them to.

03

Ask Questions

When you are ready, flag a team member. Tell them what you are looking for: relaxation, energy, pain relief, better sleep, or just curiosity. They will guide you to the right products.

04

Purchase

Once you have made your selections, head to the register. Pay with cash or debit. Your purchase is placed in a sealed, opaque exit bag as required by New York State law. That is it.

Step 3

Understanding the Menu

Cannabis comes in many forms. Each type offers a different experience in terms of onset time, duration, and consumption method. Here is what you will find at Studio 57.

Flower

Onset: MinutesDuration: 1-3 hours

Dried cannabis buds for smoking or vaporizing. The most traditional form. Available in various strains with different effects, flavors, and potencies.

Best for: Experienced users who want full-spectrum effects and variety.

Pre-Rolls

Onset: MinutesDuration: 1-3 hours

Ready-to-smoke joints rolled with quality flower. No grinding, no rolling. Just light and enjoy.

Best for: Convenience seekers and social situations.

Edibles

Onset: 30-90 minutesDuration: 4-8 hours

Cannabis-infused gummies, chocolates, and beverages. Precisely dosed. Effects take longer to start but last much longer than smoking.

Best for: People who prefer not to smoke and want long-lasting effects.

Vapes

Onset: MinutesDuration: 1-3 hours

Cartridges and disposable pens with cannabis oil. Discreet, portable, and easy to control dosing with small puffs.

Best for: Discreet use and precise dose control.

Tinctures

Onset: 15-45 minutesDuration: 4-6 hours

Liquid cannabis drops placed under the tongue or added to food and drinks. Precise milligram dosing with a dropper.

Best for: First-timers who want precise control over their dose.

Topicals

Onset: 15-30 minutesDuration: 2-4 hours

Lotions, balms, and salves applied to the skin. Designed for localized relief. Generally non-intoxicating.

Best for: Targeted relief without psychoactive effects.

Step 4

Dosing Basics

The single most important rule for new cannabis consumers: start low and go slow. You can always take more. You cannot take less.

Rule 01

Start Low

If you are new to cannabis, begin with the lowest available dose. For edibles, that means 2.5-5mg of THC. For flower, one or two small puffs.

Rule 02

Go Slow

Wait for effects before consuming more. Inhalation effects arrive in minutes; edibles can take 30-90 minutes. Do not redose edibles until at least two hours.

Rule 03

Know Your Setting

Use cannabis in a comfortable, familiar environment, especially the first time. Have water and snacks nearby. Tell someone you trust.

Rule 04

Track What Works

Note the product name, dose, and how it made you feel. This helps our staff refine recommendations on your next visit.

What to Expect

It Is Simpler Than You Think

Most first-time visitors tell us the same thing afterward: “That was way easier than I expected.” The entire process, from walking in to walking out with your purchase, takes about 10-15 minutes.

There is no pressure to buy anything. You are welcome to come in, look around, ask questions, and leave without purchasing. We would rather you come back informed than buy something you are not sure about.

If you are nervous, tell us. We have helped hundreds of first-time buyers and we know how to make the experience comfortable. This is what we do, and we are good at it.
